This charming vintage stoneware jug is a wonderful example of traditional German salt-glazed pottery.
Featuring a classic bulbous form with a flared lip and handle, the jug is decorated with hand-painted scrolling floral motifs in earthy browns, olive greens, rich cobalt blues, and warm pink tones.
The salt-glazing process creates a beautiful dappled, slightly textured finish with a soft sheen, typical of Westerwald pottery.
Twin cobalt bands frame the decoration, and the substantial base ensures it sits securely whether in use or on display.
A lovely collectible for any folk art or European ceramics enthusiast.
