An exceptional 19th-century walnut tea caddy, beautifully domed and adorned with ornate brass and bone strapping in a trunk-style design. This richly figured burr walnut caddy exudes luxury and refinement, evoking the golden age of tea drinking when such objects were prized possessions in affluent homes.

The hinged lid opens to reveal its original interior, including a rare surviving pressed glass liner and a lidded tea compartment.

The liner, a remarkable survivor, shows old stapled repairs—an authentic sign of its valued use over generations.

The inner lid features striking graining and a clean hinged panel, adding further depth to the craftsmanship.

The caddy retains its original lock and escutcheon (key not present) and is enhanced by elaborate trefoil-shaped engraved brass mounts and decorative bone inlays—hallmarks of superior Victorian design.

A perfect collector’s piece, gift, or functional antique for storing modern tea in a historical vessel.
