Height: 54cm

Width: 25cm

A striking bronze sculpture depicting a medieval archer captured at the moment of release, bow fully drawn and body leaning dramatically backwards in a display of balance, tension, and athleticism.

The figure is modelled wearing a hood, tunic, chainmail sleeves, boots, and a quiver of arrows, creating a powerful interpretation of a medieval longbowman.

The sculpture is signed P. Tourgueneff, after the celebrated Russian-French sculptor Pierre Tourgueneff (1853–1912), renowned for his dynamic sporting and historical figures.

Richly detailed throughout, the bronze captures the folds of the clothing, chainmail texture, weaponry, and muscular movement of the archer with impressive realism.

Mounted upon a polished black marble socle, the piece combines strong visual impact with elegant presentation.

The elongated pose and sweeping curve of the bow create a dramatic silhouette that commands attention from every angle.

A superb decorative bronze for collectors of sporting art, historical sculpture, military subjects, and nineteenth-century inspired bronzes.
