Housed in a purpose-made black-painted tin box with scarlet red velvet lining and original securing clasps, this set represents an important survival from Britain’s naval heritage.
Matthews & Co. were prominent outfitters to the Royal Navy, serving high-ranking officers from one of the UK’s key naval ports.
