Description
Height: 47cm
Width: 27cm
A striking hand-carved African wooden mask featuring an elongated facial form with prominent geometric decoration, stylised features and traditional incised motifs.
The mask is carved from a single piece of hardwood and displays decorative etched detailing across the forehead, cheeks and headdress, creating a bold and highly decorative appearance.
The elongated proportions and angular styling are characteristic of masks produced throughout parts of West and Central Africa, where such forms have long been associated with ceremonial, social and cultural traditions.
Whether displayed as part of a collection of ethnographic art, tribal artefacts or eclectic interior décor, this piece offers strong visual impact and a rich sense of craftsmanship.
The rear retains evidence of traditional hand-carving, with suspension holes allowing the mask to be displayed as wall art.
