A fantastic early 20th century carbide bicycle lamp, full of steampunk allure and authentic industrial charm.
This striking piece features a robust construction in nickel-plated brass and steel, complete with original hinged components, vented hood, and a green glass jewel lens to either side.
It would have originally been mounted to a bicycle and lit using acetylene gas from carbide and water reactions housed in the lower chamber.
The design is both functional and beautifully engineered – showcasing detailed fittings, riveted elements, and an adjustable bracket arm with working joints.
With its compact, sculptural form and mechanical elegance, this lamp makes a wonderful decorative item for collectors, interior designers, or lovers of vintage cycling ephemera.
