A highly collectable Beswick equestrian figure depicting a huntsman mounted upon a rearing horse, model No. 868.
This dramatic composition captures a moment of tension and control, with the rider steadying the spirited horse as it rises onto its hind legs.
Finished in Beswick’s rich gloss glazes, the figure features a bay horse with black mane and tail alongside a traditionally dressed huntsman wearing a scarlet hunting coat, cream breeches, and black riding boots.
The energetic pose and excellent modelling showcase the skill and craftsmanship that made Beswick one of Britain’s most celebrated ceramic manufacturers.
Designed by Arthur Gredington, this model remains one of the most recognisable and sought-after pieces from Beswick’s hunting and equestrian range.
The underside bears the Beswick England backstamp and impressed model number 868.
A superb display piece for collectors of Beswick, horses, country sports memorabilia, and British ceramics.
