A playful and characterful industrial folk art sculpture, constructed from an assemblage of vintage tobacco tins and reclaimed components.
The figure, affectionately styled as a “Baccy Bot,” features a Capstan tobacco tin forming the head, complete with applied eyes, and a St. Julien tobacco tin forming the torso.
The arms are crafted from metal rods with spanner ends, giving the piece a mechanical, workshop-inspired aesthetic, while the legs utilise coiled elements mounted onto a vintage tin base.
The combination of branded tins, aged patina, and repurposed materials creates a distinctive piece that blends advertising history with industrial design.
Each element contributes to the overall personality of the piece, reflecting the tradition of handmade assemblage art where found objects are reimagined into sculptural forms.
The result is a one-of-a-kind decorative object with strong visual appeal and a sense of humour.
