Description

A substantial natural Cleoniceras ammonite fossil from Madagascar, measuring approximately 12cm and weighing 400g.

The specimen retains areas of its original nacreous shell, producing attractive flashes of red, green, blue and gold iridescence as the surface catches the light.

The characteristic coiled form is clearly defined, with natural ribbing and shell detail visible across the fossil.

The open section reveals the internal fossilised structure and matrix, giving the specimen additional geological interest.

Cleoniceras ammonites lived during the Cretaceous period, making this a genuine prehistoric natural history specimen.
