A large antique Victorian glass display dome, raised on an elegant ebonised oval wooden base with original red velvet trim surround.

Dating to the late 19th century, this substantial display dome would originally have been used to protect and showcase taxidermy, clocks, religious figures, wax flowers, or other treasured decorative objects within a Victorian interior.

The tall proportions and generous internal display space make it particularly suitable for larger curiosities and statement displays.

The dome features thick hand blown glass with pleasing natural character and subtle irregularities typical of Victorian manufacture, paired with a traditional dark stained oval base resting on bun feet.

The surviving red velvet edging adds further period charm and authenticity.
