Description
A rare and completely unused example of a WWII German Luftschutz Volksgasmaske (People’s Gas Mask), type DM40, complete in its original cardboard box with filter and printed instruction leaflet.
Manufactured for civilian air raid protection during World War II, this example is in remarkably clean condition with the rubber mask still supple and the filter unused. The set includes the original instruction booklet titled “Die deutsche Volksgasmaske”, featuring a period illustration and usage guidance. A tag from the period vendor or supplier is still attached, adding to its authenticity and collectability.
These masks were issued as part of home-front preparations during air raids and were intended for civil use, often distributed to families or workplaces. This set is an exceptional surviving example—perfect for display in a military collection or museum setting.
