A substantial antique amber glass apothecary bottle, retaining its original chemist’s label reading “Tinct. Iodi Fortis” and bearing the name of Middleton & Co Ltd.

The bottle is further marked with an applied “POISON” panel, a traditional safety feature used to clearly distinguish hazardous contents within pharmacy environments.

Crafted in rich amber glass to protect light-sensitive contents, the form is classic of late 19th to early 20th century chemist bottles, with a tall cylindrical body, narrow neck, and original stopper.

The surviving paper labels and pricing/return notice add a strong layer of authenticity and historical context, linking the piece directly to provincial British pharmaceutical trade.
