Description
Height: 31cm
Width: 13cm
A highly unusual novelty brandy balloon glass featuring an integrated sculptural handle in the form of a climbing dog, accompanied by a small mouse figure enclosed within the bowl.
The oversized balloon-shaped vessel is rendered in rich cobalt blue glass, raised on a clear stem and circular foot, creating a striking contrast between colour and form.
The applied handle is modelled as a dog clambering up the side of the glass, its paws gripping the rim, while the interior houses a small mouse figure positioned at the base, visible through the tinted glass.
This combination of applied ceramic-style detail and coloured glass gives the piece a whimsical yet sculptural presence.
Such novelty drinking vessels were popular during the mid to late 20th century, often produced as conversation pieces rather than purely functional barware.
The exaggerated proportions and playful design make this an eye-catching addition to any collection of unusual glassware or decorative curios.
