An elegant Edwardian solid silver candlestick, hallmarked for Sheffield, 1911, designed in the form of a classical Corinthian column.

The piece stands on a stepped square base with beaded borders, rising to a fluted column shaft and a finely detailed Corinthian capital, richly decorated with acanthus leaves.

The detachable nozzle follows the same square form, complementing the architectural design.

The hallmark is clearly struck to the base, confirming sterling silver (.925), Sheffield assay office, and the 1911 date letter.

As typical of candlesticks of this period, the base is weighted to provide stability, while the outer structure remains solid silver.
