Description

Height: 16cm

A spectacular preserved Giant Scoliid Wasp (Megascolia procer), professionally displayed with its wings fully extended beneath a clear domed cover on a black wooden base.

This impressive species is one of the world’s largest wasps and is recognised by its substantial black body, contrasting yellow-orange markings and remarkable iridescent wings.

The wings can display flashes of blue, green, bronze and violet depending on the angle of the light, making this an especially striking natural history specimen.

Mounted centrally to allow the intricate body, legs and beautiful wing structure to be appreciated, this is a fantastic statement piece for a cabinet of curiosities, entomology collection, Wunderkammer or unusual interior.

Care Instructions:
Keep indoors away from direct sunlight, excessive heat and moisture. Avoid touching the specimen itself. Clean the exterior of the dome gently with a soft dry cloth.
