Description

Height: 73cm including horns

A striking vintage taxidermy Blackbuck antelope head mount, featuring the species’ unmistakable long, deeply ringed spiral horns and distinctive dark brown and cream facial markings.

This is an impressive decorative taxidermy specimen with particularly dramatic horns, giving the piece considerable presence when displayed.

The Blackbuck is native to the Indian subcontinent and is especially recognisable for the mature male’s characteristic corkscrew-shaped horns.

The mount is offered in vintage condition with visible age-related wear, including deterioration and losses around the ears and smaller areas of wear to the facial skin.

These imperfections are clearly shown in the photographs and form part of the specimen’s aged character. Please study all photographs carefully as they form part of the condition description.

An eye-catching piece for a taxidermy collection, natural history display, Wunderkammer or eclectic interior.

Care Instructions:
Keep in a dry environment away from direct sunlight, excessive heat and humidity. Dust gently with a soft brush and avoid handling by the horns or ears.
