Meet Sir Nuttingham, a gloriously eccentric taxidermy squirrel who appears to have abandoned gathering acorns in favour of defending the realm.
This wonderfully theatrical anthropomorphic taxidermy piece features a genuine squirrel specimen presented as a fully armoured medieval knight.
Dressed from neck to toe in elaborate silver and gold-effect plate armour, he comes equipped with a large round shield emblazoned with a gold cross, a sword at his side and a chained morning star ready for anyone foolish enough to approach his winter nut supply.
The level of detail makes this an especially striking piece, from the articulated-style armour and decorative breastplate to the miniature weaponry and oversized shield.
Mounted securely upon a black display plinth, the upright pose gives him the appearance of a tiny but surprisingly formidable medieval guard.
An exceptional piece of whimsical taxidermy with just the right combination of macabre humour and absurd grandeur.
Perfect for a curiosity cabinet, gothic interior, maximalist collection or simply standing somewhere prominent enough to make visitors question what on earth they have walked into.
A brilliant one-off character piece and certainly not your average squirrel.
Care Instructions:
Keep indoors in a dry environment away from direct sunlight, excessive heat and moisture. Dust gently with a soft, dry brush or air blower. Avoid handling the specimen by the fur, shield or miniature accessories.
