An original 1970s Homepride Fred the Flour Grader flour shaker/sifter, produced as part of the hugely popular range of Homepride advertising kitchenalia.

Fred was originally created for Spillers Homepride in 1964, becoming the brand’s instantly recognisable “Chief Flour Grader”, dressed in his trademark black suit and bowler hat.

This large 1970s plastic version of Fred doubles as a flour shaker or sifter.

His removable black bowler hat reveals the perforated dispensing top concealed beneath, making the figure both a practical kitchen accessory and a particularly fun piece of British advertising memorabilia.

Fred became one of Britain’s best-known advertising characters, and original period kitchenalia featuring him is now highly collectable.
