A fantastic antique Dutch wall-mounted coffee grinder, combining a striking red wooden backboard with a ceramic coffee hopper, cast metal grinding mechanism and original glass coffee catcher.
The ceramic hopper is decorated in blue and white with a traditional Dutch windmill landscape and boldly marked “COFFEE” to the front.
A wooden lid sits above the hopper, while the long hand crank with turned wooden handle operates the grinder.
Freshly ground coffee falls directly into the original removable glass measuring catcher below, which retains its moulded measurement markings.
The red painted wooden backboard has fixing holes allowing the grinder to be mounted directly onto a kitchen wall.
A particularly decorative piece of antique European kitchenalia, with the combination of red painted wood, blue and white Dutch ceramics and original mechanical fittings giving it plenty of period character.
Perfect for a country kitchen, café display or collection of antique coffee and kitchen equipment.
In good antique condition with genuine age-related wear throughout, including rubbing and losses to the painted surfaces, oxidation and patination to the metalwork, marks to the wooden components and general signs of previous use.
The original glass coffee catcher is present, which is a lovely feature. Please study all photographs carefully for overall condition.
