Description

Width: 21cm

Height: 19cm

An impressive matched pair of polished Cleoniceras ammonite fossil halves from the Mahajanga Province of Madagascar, dating to the Cretaceous Period approximately 143–100 million years ago.

Expertly cut and polished to reveal the intricate internal chamber structure, each half displays a remarkable combination of crystalline calcite formations, natural mineralisation, and beautifully preserved spiral growth patterns.

The warm honey, caramel, cream, and earthy brown tones create a striking natural display piece that is equally at home in a geological collection, cabinet of curiosities, or contemporary interior.

When placed together, the two halves form the complete ammonite shell, allowing the viewer to appreciate both the external spiral form and the complex chambered interior that once regulated buoyancy in this extinct marine cephalopod.

Supplied with display stands as photographed.
Weight approximately 1.86kg.
