A striking signed Mdina Glass vase featuring an elegant freeform silhouette and beautifully blended layers of blue, brown, black and opaline white glass.
Handcrafted in Malta, the vase displays the distinctive organic shaping and fluid colour transitions for which Mdina Glass became internationally renowned.
The asymmetrical folded rim and sculptural form create a sense of movement, while the richly layered colours appear to flow through the body of the glass, changing character as they catch the light.
Founded in 1968, Mdina Glass quickly established a reputation for producing highly individual studio glass inspired by the colours and landscapes of the Mediterranean.
Pieces such as this exemplify the artistic approach that has made Mdina one of the most collectable names in British and Maltese studio glass.
Equally suited as a functional vase or a decorative art glass sculpture, this piece offers strong visual presence and displays beautifully from every angle.
