Designed in the form of a miniature cabinet, the piece features twin front doors opening to internal storage compartments, together with a lower drawer lined in traditional red patterned fabric.

The box is adorned with elaborate pierced and engraved brass corner mounts, handles, escutcheons and decorative fittings inspired by traditional Chinese furniture and scholar’s cabinets.

The carved jade panels add further refinement, displaying stylised floral and foliate motifs that contrast beautifully against the rich oxblood red finish.
