A striking vintage West German pottery vase produced by Scheurich Keramik, bearing the impressed model number 523-18 to the base.

This classic mid-century design features the highly sought-after Fat Lava aesthetic, with a richly textured volcanic band encircling the body between deep blue-grey and olive-toned glazed sections.

The dramatic glaze effects create a wonderful contrast of glossy and cratered surfaces, characteristic of the experimental ceramic finishes that made West German pottery so influential during the 1960s and 1970s.
