An attractive original French soda siphon dating to the 1930s, featuring a striking cobalt blue glass body complete with its original metal dispensing head and internal siphon tube.
The bottle retains its etched advertising decoration reading “H. Vieville, Pont-l’Abbé”, together with French wording relating to the manufacture of carbonated waters.
The metal head is engraved “Boulet-Lauvergnat Niort”, a respected French siphon manufacturer, adding further authenticity and period appeal.
Soda siphons such as this were once commonplace in French cafés, bars, hotels and restaurants, used for dispensing sparkling water before becoming highly sought-after decorative and collector’s pieces.
The vivid blue glass and industrial styling make this an excellent display item for kitchens, bars, cafés, restaurants, or collections of advertising memorabilia and French antiques.
A wonderful piece of French hospitality history with strong decorative appeal.
