Description

Height: 37cm

A wonderfully bizarre taxidermy Wolpertinger, inspired by the mythical hybrid creature of Bavarian folklore.

This particularly strange fellow combines a furry mammalian body with a large bushy tail, prominent antler-like horns, oversized webbed feet, claws and rather impressive front teeth. Mounted standing upright on a dark wooden base with naturalistic moss detailing.

Traditionally, Wolpertingers are imaginary creatures assembled from characteristics of different animals, with taxidermists producing physical versions of the legendary beast from the 19th century onwards.

A fantastic cabinet-of-curiosities piece and certainly one of those objects that becomes increasingly peculiar the longer you look at it.
