Description

A colourful original 1960s Chad Valley No. 33 tinplate friction racing car, with a wonderfully futuristic streamlined design.

The lithographed tinplate body is finished in bright red with contrasting yellow and blue detailing, printed headlights, vents and large No. 33 racing numbers.

The illustrated cockpit includes a driver behind the wheel, adding to its classic mid-century toy appearance.

The underside has a bright yellow tinplate chassis with four red wheels and the original friction-drive mechanism.

A great example of post-war British tinplate toy manufacture and a particularly decorative vintage racing car.

The car shows age-related wear, scratches, rubbing and small areas of paint loss consistent with play and age, as photographed. Sold as a vintage collectable.
