Description

A classic vintage Mettoy tinplate racing car, featuring a wonderfully streamlined body and bold No. 5 racing decoration.

The lithographed tinplate body is finished predominantly in red and yellow with dark blue and cream detailing.

Period features include the printed driver to the top, sweeping side exhaust, stylised grille and enclosed wheel arches, giving the car a distinctive early racing and land-speed-record appearance.

The underside retains its original metal chassis and four wheels.

A great example of British tinplate toy manufacture and an attractive companion piece to other Mettoy racing cars.
