A fantastic vintage Schuco tinplate submarine, made in Germany and finished in striking red and silver lithographed tinplate.

The submarine features classic mid-century detailing including rows of portholes, conning tower, printed vents and panel lines, together with a working-style rear propeller and rudder assembly.

The Schuco name is clearly visible to the side.

The underside retains the original mechanical housing, while the exposed propeller and steering arrangement give the toy a particularly impressive display appearance.

A highly collectable example of German tinplate toy manufacture, ideal for collectors of Schuco, nautical toys, clockwork toys and vintage mechanical models.
