A striking French Art Deco mantel clock dating to the 1930s, crafted in black and cream veined onyx with elegant gazelle figures mounted to either side in bronzed spelter.
This beautifully proportioned clock captures the streamlined elegance of the Art Deco movement, with geometric banded onyx detailing contrasted against dynamic leaping antelope forms.
The stepped base, bold monochrome palette, and stylised animal motifs are all classic hallmarks of French Art Deco design from the interwar period.
The clock face features gilt Arabic numerals set against a faux marble dial, housed within a sculptural central case flanked by the symmetrical gazelle figures.
A decorative and highly displayable interior piece with strong period presence.
The movement is currently not in working order and is being sold as a decorative restoration project or display piece.
A wonderful original Art Deco statement object, ideal for collectors of French decorative arts, jazz age interiors, and period mantel clocks.
