A beautifully modelled Lomonosov porcelain dog figure depicting a reclining greyhound or borzoi in a poised and elegant resting position.
Produced by the famous Lomonosov Porcelain Factory of Leningrad, this refined figure captures the graceful proportions and aristocratic character of the breed.
The dog is shown stretched forward with elongated limbs and raised head, finished in a striking white glaze with softly shaded grey and black markings.
The underside bears the factory mark together with the model number 3501, identifying it as an authentic Lomonosov production from the Soviet era.
Animal figures produced by Lomonosov are highly regarded amongst collectors for their combination of naturalistic modelling, elegant form and exceptional porcelain quality.
Their studies of dogs remain particularly sought after, especially examples depicting sighthounds and hunting breeds.
A sophisticated decorative piece equally suited to collectors of Russian porcelain, canine memorabilia or mid-century European ceramics.
