A striking naturalistic taxidermy display featuring a beautifully coloured kingfisher alongside two smaller British songbirds, arranged amongst branches, dried flora, moss and woodland detailing beneath a large clear glass dome.
The kingfisher forms the focal point of the composition, displaying its unmistakable electric blue, turquoise and rich orange plumage while perched prominently upon the upper branch.
The accompanying birds are positioned at different levels throughout the scene, creating the appearance of a miniature woodland habitat rather than a conventional static taxidermy mount.
The arrangement is particularly attractive, with an aged tree-form centrepiece surrounded by mosses, dried flowers and naturalistic ground cover. Finished with decorative rope trim around the base and enclosed beneath an impressive domed cover.
An unusual statement piece with plenty to look at from every angle, ideal for a cabinet of curiosities, maximalist interior, natural history collection or Wunderkammer-style display.
