An impressive 19th century pewter samovar, richly decorated with engraved floral and foliate ornament throughout the body.
The urn-shaped vessel stands on a square pedestal base with four decorative feet and is fitted with a pair of tall scrolling side handles.
The front retains its original-style brass tap with a turned pale handle, while the removable lid is particularly charming, surmounted by a small dog finial and engraved with a repeating leaf motif.
A substantial and highly decorative piece of antique tableware, displaying beautifully as a statement piece in a period or eclectic interior.
The samovar shows considerable age-related patination, tarnishing, rubbing and surface wear consistent with its age. Please refer closely to the photographs for condition.
