An attractive antique Staffordshire pottery clock holder, featuring a traditionally dressed Scottish couple standing either side of a central tree and circular clock aperture.
The gentleman is modelled in Highland dress with a tartan kilt, green cloak and black cap, while the lady wears a blue bodice and patterned skirt.
The raised clock surround is decorated with hand-painted leaves and flowers, with applied bocage-style details throughout.
A decorative example of Victorian Staffordshire figure pottery, designed originally to hold a small pocket watch or clock within the circular opening.
The piece displays extensive age-related crazing to the glaze, along with areas of wear, losses and old damage to the applied decoration, particularly around the upper clock surround.
Please study the photographs carefully as these form part of the description. Clock/watch not included.
