A decorative vintage painting depicting a romantic pastoral scene with a young courting couple resting in a landscape, accompanied by sheep, flowers and woodland scenery.

The composition is in the 18th-century French Rococo pastoral style, reminiscent of works by François Boucher and his contemporaries.

Painted with particularly attractive blues, ochres and deep greens, with fine detailing to the figures, animals and flowers.

Signed “Browet E” to the lower right.

Presented in an ornate gilt-effect frame with raised scrolling corner decoration, complementing the period-style subject beautifully.

A charming decorative painting with a traditional country house feel, ideal for a gallery wall or period interior. Some age-related wear to the painting and frame, as visible in the photographs.
