An original vintage Paddington Bear by Gabrielle Designs, the celebrated British maker responsible for producing some of the earliest and most collectible Paddington bears.
This charming example retains his iconic red duffle coat with wooden toggle fastenings, black felt hat and moulded black Wellington boots, instantly recognisable as the classic Paddington design beloved by generations.
The bear features the traditional long cream mohair-style fur, amber-coloured eyes and original characterful expression that made Gabrielle Designs Paddington bears so sought after by collectors.
The attached note reading “Please look after this bear. Thank you” remains one of Paddington’s most enduring and recognisable features.
Founded by Shirley and Eddie Clarkson, Gabrielle Designs held the original licence to produce Paddington Bear merchandise, and these early British-made bears are now highly regarded by collectors of children’s toys, literary memorabilia and vintage teddy bears.
