Description

The set contains four individual aluminium moulds in assorted traditional fluted designs, intended for making individual jellies, blancmanges and other cold desserts.

Particularly desirable is the survival of the original Swan Brand cardboard box, printed in green and black with the period wording “Aluminum ‘Jellette’ Moulds – Four Assorted Patterns – In the Home for a Lifetime.”

The side of the box also retains its charming illustrations showing the different finished jelly shapes.

Swan Brand was associated with Birmingham manufacturer Bulpitt & Sons, a significant British manufacturer of metal kitchen and household wares. The company produced a variety of Swan aluminium kitchenware.

A superb piece of interwar British kitchenalia, particularly appealing with the moulds still together with their increasingly scarce original packaging.
