Description

Height: 21cm

Width: 9.5cm

An original 1988 Campbell’s Soup ceramic soap dispenser, featuring the iconic Campbell Kids dressed as chefs beside a classic red and white Campbell’s Condensed Soup can.

The underside carries the original copyright information reading ©1988 and trademarks licensed by Campbell Soup Company, together with the manufacturer Benjamin & Medwin Inc., N.Y., N.Y. This dates the piece precisely to the late 1980s.

Campbell Kids imagery itself has a much longer history, having first been created for Campbell’s advertising in 1904.

Made in glazed ceramic with a removable pump dispenser to the top, this is a particularly fun piece of original American advertising kitchenalia.

The Campbell’s branding, character design and oversized soup can make it a great display piece for collectors of food advertising and retro kitchenware.

The ceramic displays age-related wear, marks and crazing, together with a noticeable chip to the upper edge of one chef’s hat as photographed.

There is also general wear and discolouration to the pump mechanism consistent with age and previous use.

Please study all photographs carefully for condition.
