A large antique standing crucifix, constructed from dark polished wood and decorated with fine metal line inlay throughout the cross and stepped pedestal base.

The cross is mounted with a substantial gilt metal Corpus Christi, with a matching raised INRI plaque above.

The stepped architectural base gives the crucifix an impressive freestanding form, while the contrasting gilt figure and dark wood create a particularly attractive appearance.

An impressive piece of antique religious and ecclesiastical decoration, ideal for display in a traditional interior or collection of devotional antiques.

There is age-related wear to the wood, metalwork and gilt finish, including surface marks, rubbing and areas of patination consistent with age.

Please study the photographs carefully for condition.
