A large vintage painted plaster statue depicting Jesus Christ and the Sacred Heart, traditionally modelled standing in flowing white and red robes.

Christ is shown pointing towards the prominently raised Sacred Heart upon his chest, surrounded by radiating rays and surmounted by flames and a cross.

The figure retains attractive hand-painted detail throughout, including the facial features, wounds to the hands and contrasting robes.

A substantial and decorative Catholic devotional figure with a strong ecclesiastical appearance, ideal for a collection of religious antiques, church furnishings or devotional art.

The statue has a wonderfully aged appearance with surface wear, paint loss, small chips, marks and discolouration throughout, consistent with age and use. Please study the photographs carefully for condition.
